What are Balloonsats?
Balloon satellites, or BalloonSats, are satellites in which a payload is launch into a near-space environment by a high altitude balloon. BalloonSats are capable of reaching altitudes of 100,000 feet in which the balloon is released by burst or by command of the payload, and descends safely back to Earth for recovery via parachute. BalloonSats are generally used for collecting data, testing hardware and software, and performing other miscellaneous tasks in the near-space environment.
